Ergonomic products #Week 9

Image
Hello! This week I will be talking about ergonomic products, specifically about two mouses. Let's begin by looking what ergonomic products actually mean: these are products that are designed so they would better fit the person who is using it and it aims to improve workspace to minimise risk of injury or harm. And reason why these products are important is because in one Australian research it was estimated that work-related injuries and health problems total to cost 60 billion dollars. The items I will be comparing is WarMouse Meta - maybe not the best design- and Logitech MX master 2s wireless mouse. 1) WarMouse Meta: It's worth mentioning that this mouse is from 2009 so the way we look at ergonomic products might have changed a bit. The main problem with this mouse is that it has 18!!! buttons. They are programmable and has double click option too, it also includes an analog Xbox 360-style joystick.  For gamers this might be a good option although it might take time to get

Job in IT #Week 8

This week I will talk about IT job requirements in Latvia. Although I don't really have experience with that so much because I have just started to search for one, but I have heard many different things.     For example, if you are looking for some basic first job opportunities in many places they will take you with "open hands" and teach everything you have to know. The only requirement is that you are willing to learn and work hard.  But you wouldn't think that by looking at some junior offers (Junior programmer):      However if you already have some experience then usually it is something like this (This is for Full stack developer):      And it's worth mentioning that everywhere they are expecting candidates to be willing to learn, hardworking and as an extra- good social skills. It is also interesting that although many people study IT in Latvia, good specialists are still on demand. Because new IT students aren't qualified enough but in older gen

Copyleft

Hello!      This week we will continue to discuss copyright issue. Only if last week I mentioned copyright, then this week everything will be about copyleft and things to maybe consider when choosing software's.      Let's start with discussing the difference between copyright and copyleft:         Copyright exists to protect authors or software's from unauthorized copying or selling of their work, and it means that only with author's permission can some of these actions be done.         However, copyleft can be modified and published if it remains free.      So the main differences are that copyleft should be free and it can be modified, but all the modified versions also need to be free, but there are 3 types of copyleft:             Strong copyleft - it means that all projects made with this licence demands that they must retain the license of original and they can't be made closed source. For example GNU GPL.             Weak Copyleft - using this you also have

Copyright issue Week#5

Hello everyone!     Today I will be talking about copyrights and some suggestions written by Christian Engström MEP & Rick Falkvinge in a book "The Case for Copyright Reform". But I would like to mention that my point of view is as a consumer and I have almost no idea how these reforms would impact companies and authors.       First of all, why do we have such a big problem with copyrights and pirating?     My answer would be that paying for services is not an option for everyone, and even if you pay there are many things that still are not accessible to you. For example, for few years now I have been paying for Netflix, but there ae so many shows and movies that I can't get which would mean I either have to pay for something else or get it online. Okey, let's look what happens if I agree to pay more and try to get subscription for Disney+ (so I could watch new Marvel series). Oh wait, it's not possible in this part of the world and for reasons like t
